Happy Chinese New Year!

Kung Hei Fat Choi to our Chinese brothers and sisters!!! :)

I’m obviously not Chinese, so I don’t really celebrate and make a big deal out of the occasion. But still, I try to get into the spirit!

For example, I’ve been coercing my friends to give me tikoy, ‘cause if I’m not mistaken, there’s a rule that you can’t buy for yourself and someone else must give it to you. Now, unless there’s another rule that says you can’t force your friends to give you one, then I am shamelessly announcing that I will accept tikoys until the end of the week.

Also, I ate Chinese food at the stroke of midnight (or a few minutes before that).

…PANCIT CANTON!!! Hahahaha. I know instant noodles are not legit Chinese food! But hey, at least I acknowledge and RESPECT their contributions to the world! :)

Lastly, and most fun, I watched the fireworks!

We (Eyenne, Lao, Pat & I) went up to the roof deck (38th floor) of the building to watch the fireworks all over Metro Manila. Our cellphone cameras can only capture the really near ones (fireworks above are from ABS-CBN’s countdown in Quirino Grandstand), but there were fireworks everywhere! The skies were lit with pretty yellow, red and green explosions. An SLR would have been perfect.

Anyway, may the Year of the Water Dragon shower us all with prosperity and good luck! Happy New Year!

P.S. I’d REAAAALLLLLYYYY love a box of tikoy
